Fundraising – Events Assistant / Marshals / Bucket Collectors
We hold regular fund-raising events throughout Gwent and volunteers who are able to assist with organising events, assisting with collections or just being present to help the general public and give advice and information are always welcome.
Fundraising – Collecting Box Placers
Approaching various outlets (shops, businesses etc.) to enquire if they would have a SDF collecting box
Fundraising -Ambassadors
Give awareness talks, attend cheque presentations and represent St. David’s Foundation
Fundraising – Draw Ticket Promoters
Sell draw tickets on behalf of SDF to local contacts (e.g. within work / community / group / local pub)
Fundraising – Draw Ticket Sales
Approach members of the public at given locations (normally within a retail outlet or supermarket) to ask if they would like to purchase a draw ticket.
Retail assistants
Many of our 27 charity shops have openings for volunteers who are able to offer a few hours of their time. No specific experience is required as there are many different tasks within shops and full training will be given.
Lottery membership officers
Canvassing door to door for new members to our weekly Lottery
Lottery Membership Officers
Canvassing for new members to our weekly Lottery in St. David’s Foundation shops, or other business/retail premises including supermarkets.
Lottery Collectors
Door to door collection of lottery payments from existing members
Administration – Data Entry
Based at Cambrian House, Newport, we would welcome people who have some basic IT experience to enter data on to our computer system in our Lottery and Fundraising departments.
Complementary Therapists
Qualified and experienced complementary therapists are invited to join our team of volunteers providing therapies to our patients in our day hospices and day centres.
Panteg & Ystrad Mynach Day Hospice – Arts & Crafts Facilitators
Arts & crafts volunteers facilitate activities with our patients, providing interest, enjoyment, a sense of achievement and the chance to try something new. It may be making cards, glass painting, watercolours – what ideas do YOU have?
Panteg Day Hospice – Receptionist
A Receptionist is required every other Wednesday afternoon to greet patients for our Aromatherapy sessions
Monmouthshire Resource Centre - Host/Hostess
We will soon have an opening for a Host/Hostess at Monmouthshire Resource Centre to help with the preparation of refreshments and the serving and clearing away of lunch for our patients.
Monmouthshire Resource Centre - Drivers
We will have opportunities arising soon for car/owner drivers with a few hours to spare mornings and/or afternoons to collect patients from their homes and drive them to our Resource Centre in Monmouthshire. This role will require a CRB Disclosure at enhanced level, which we will organise and pay for. Travelling expenses of 33p per mile are payable.
Ystrad Mynach Day Hospice – Drivers
We have opportunities for car/owner drivers with a few hours to spare mornings and/or afternoons to collect patients from their homes and drive them to our Day Hospice in Ystrad Mynach on Thursdays & Fridays. This role will require a CRB Disclosure at enhanced level, which we will organise and pay for. Travelling expenses of 33p per mile are payable.
Resource Centre, (Chepstow Community Hospital) – Drivers
Our Chepstow Resource Centre is open on Monday from 9.30a.m to 2.00p.m.
We require volunteer drivers mornings and/or afternoons to collect patients from their homes and drive them to the Centre, also to take them home again in the afternoon. This role will require a CRB Disclosure at enhanced level, which we will organise and pay for. Travelling expenses of 33p per mile are payable.
Volunteer Van Assistants
To assist our van drivers with the daily delivery and collection of goods.
