In-Patient Unit

St. David’s has In-Patient Units at Ty Ceirios, Pontnewynydd, and Caerleon House, Caerleon.

The unit offers care for patients who can’t stay at home, but who don’t need the specialist facilities of an in-patient hospice or an acute hospital admission.

The units offer nursing care in a friendly and comfortable environment. Patients can be admitted for a variety of reasons, including:

• Respite care
• Basic symptom control
• A step down between hospital and home care
• End of life care

I as a carer have found the hospice care very helpful and comforting. The nurse who looks after my husband while I have respite is an absolute gem, she is so kind and thoughtful, I don't know what I would do without her
