Management Team
Chief Executive/Director of Nursing
Emma Saysell joined St David’s having previously working in Velindre Hospital Cardiff. She was Director of Nursing until 2004 but now holds the joint position of CEO and Director of Nursing. She is the accountable officer for the charity and reports to the Board of Trustees.
Director of Fundraising and Lottery
Kris Broome joined the team at St David’s having previously worked at Ty Hafan Hospice. He leads a team of staff and volunteers and is responsible for all fundraising activities.
Director of Operations
Adrian Hadley joined St David’s after a long career in rugby both as a player and in management. He is responsible for the Hospices 27 shops, finance and HR departments.
Senior Manager for Day Hospice and Family Support Team
Gill Tanner is responsible for all our 2-day hospices, resource centres and our family support services
Senior Nurse for Clinical Nurse Specialists and Education
Karen Hughes manages the teams of Clinical Nurse Specialists and the education department.
Senior Nurse for Hospice at Home
Joanne Smith is responsible for the comprehensive nursing service which enables our patients to be cared for and die at home, she also manages the out of hours service.
The support I received made caring for my husband at home so much easier. At no time did I feel alone. It was his wish that he remained at home throughout his illness. He wanted to die in his own bedroom, in his own bed and with me by his side. You made those wishes come to fruition. Throughout his illness I felt surrounded, not only by professional carers, but friends. The care administered to both of us was far above the call of duty
