Complementary Therapies
The Complementary Therapy Team at St David’s Foundation Hospice Care is made up of a team of qualified therapists offering treatments in our Day Hospices, Resource Centres and in the Community.
Complementary therapies aim to provide patients with a pleasurable and beneficial experience which may help to ease symptoms and provide an increased sense of well being.
Therapies are offered in conjunction with conventional medical treatment and are offered primarily for the relief of stress and anxiety but can also assist in relieving physical symptoms such as pain, insomnia, nausea and muscle tension. In general, complementary therapies can be used to induce a feeling of well-being and of ‘letting go’ and are also aimed at a giving patients a ‘Treat’ rather than a treatment.

- A relaxing Reiki treatment
Therapies offered include Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Massage, Reflexology, Reiki and Visualisation.
Following an initial assessment, a course of the most appropriate and beneficial treatment is tailored to individual needs.
A drop in clinic, and a domiciliary service, are available for those patients not attending our Day Hospice or Resource Centres.
